New Safety Flooring and
Climbing Wall |
We have just fitted new rubber
safety flooring around the climbing frame, these rubber mats are over 1 inch
thick and provide a fantastic soft and safe base for all the children.
In addition to the flooring we have also added a new climbing wall and extended
the climbing frame, this new challenge is just what the children need and helps
to keep them active and fit.

Mr Majeika joins us!
 |
The newest member to join Little Steppers is Mr Majeika.
Mr Majeika is a one year old Russian tortoise that loves to dig and bury himself
deep in his soil and sand bedding.
But when he isn't burying himself or eating, the children love to take turns
holding him

31st October 2007 |
What a fantastic day we had
today celebrating Halloween, the 10 children in my care all dressed up as
scary spooks and we played spooky games all afternoon.
We played apple bobbing, wrap the mummy, slimy treasure hunt, pull the legs
of the spider and much much more.
Now we just can't wait another 5 days for our Firework party!

Children's room now complete
After many
weeks of hard work, the new children's room is now complete, designed
and built from scratch it is now the main room that the children use for
playing in, the design aspect of the room was an important factor, I
wanted to move away from the regular boring magnolia that most people
paint walls and decided that every wall and skirting board was to be
painted a different colour of red, green, yellow and blue.
In the room we have fold away tables, safety mirrors at low level for
the babies to look in to, toys and mirror balls hanging from the
ceiling, A 50" TV with a media centre playing on demand audio and video
including the complete range of Baby Einstein educational videos:
www.babyeinstein.com We have
boxes and boxes of toys, games, puzzles, books, in fact the list goes on
and on, the children never get bored at Little Steppers.
On top of this the room is centrally heated has its own dedicated air
conditioning system and a CCTV camera for their safety.
Shown below are a few pictures of the completed room.

To ensure the
children in my care are always happy and have the room, space, toys and
equipment that they need, I have decided to convert the garage into an extra
room to be used just by them.
The garage will be completely converted and will include a 6ft bay window,
centrally heated and carpeted, naturally there will be a CCTV camera for the
children's protection.

Web site
re-design
I decided the
web site needed a bit of an overhaul so I had the site completely re-written
and re-coded this week, there is a lot more information for everyone to read
now and I hope it gives you plenty of information about me.
We now have online diaries, this idea was given to me by one of my parents
whose husband is away from home a lot, he wanted to know what his daughter
had been doing during the time she spent with me and was unable to read her
paper diary until he returned home many days later, now all he has to do is
logon to the web site and read exactly what she has been up to.
