Ofsted
Report |
 |
My last Ofsted inspection took place
on 3rd March 2006, below I have shown a few extracts taken from this inspection,
the extracts are word for word taken directly from the inspection record:
"The provision is outstanding.
Children are happy and settled in the childminder’s care. They have warm and
affectionate relationships with the childminder, and with each other. They play
enthusiastically and enjoy their time with her. Babies form a trusting bond with
the childminder, so that they are confident and content."
"The childminder regularly
reviews the safety arrangements in her home with the children, so that they
begin to learn about keeping themselves safe. When on trips outside the home,
the childminder attaches expanding clips to herself and younger children, so
that they have independence and freedom of movement, without the risk of
becoming separated from her."
"Children take part in a very
wide range of interesting and exciting activities, and they are keen to try new
experiences. They gain the maximum benefit from activities, because the
childminder is skilled at supporting them and helping them to extend their play.
She notes children's achievements, and uses the information to plan for their
next steps in learning. Babies make progress because the childminder has an
excellent knowledgeable of child development and the kinds of experiences that
are appropriate to their age and stage."
"Children have access to a
wide range of good quality toys and play materials that meet their developmental
needs. Items are attractively presented so that children can choose for
themselves and make decisions about their play. Children move freely around the
childminder’s warm, welcoming, and child-friendly home, finding the best place
for their play."
"Children play and rest in a
comfortable family home, where there are high standards of hygiene and
cleanliness. They benefit from the childminder’s effective regimes to protect
them from the risk of infection. They begin to learn about safeguarding their
own health, for example by fetching a tissue if they sneeze, and by using their
individual face cloths when washing before and after meals."
